For most Thanksgiving is a time to overindulge in great food and desserts. This year Thanksgiving was a little different for me because I’ve decided to change my diet and things I consume on a daily basis. Today I’m sharing why I’ve decided to choose a more plant-based diet and how this decision has affected me overall.
In this article you will learn:
- Why I decided to consume a more plant-based diet.

- How I stay motivated and consistent
Why I decided to consume a more plant-based diet
If you’ve been following our blog for a while you may know that I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis back in June of 2017. This has been life-changing but as a result, in recent months I’ve decided to take more control of my health and the things I consume. I’ve been working on switching to more organic cosmetics and personal products as well. The end goal is to become healthier and more active.
What I’m eating
Oh my goodness! There are so many good foods and recipes that only include whole foods. I love avocados, sweet potatoes, mushrooms, and spinach! I recently attended the Atlanta Veggie Fest and I had the opportunity to learn so much about food. The options are endless. Trust me!
How I stay motivated and consistent
One key to consistency is meal prepping. Research recipes, create Pinterest and tumbler boards and collect vegan and vegetarian cookbooks. For motivation, I follow influencers and groups that pertain to the subject.

So smart! I go back and forth with plant based and meat eating. I found my muscle mass was really suffering when I first went plant based. I blame myself; I wasn’t getting enough protein and fat. I was eating way too many carbs. I do feel better eating more veggie heavy meals but also eating meat. I commend you for taking charge of your health. So many illnesses can be eliminated or managed better with diet.

Thank you!! I’m working on cutting carbs now. It was interesting in the beginning but I think I have to groove now. You can do so much with vegetables.
I absolutely believe that illnesses can be eliminated with a good diet.
