Smoothies are a great way to ensure that you’re getting the proper daily vegetable and fruit intake. They are especially great for picky eating toddlers.  A couple of days ago I posted a video on social media of me preparing my now-famous lemon ginger shots for my husband and me. To my surprise, my DMs began to flood with questions about the recipe. So today I’m sharing two of my favorite immune-boosting smoothie recipes.

I’m not a health guru or doctor but I enjoy researching foods and how they fuel and heal the body.

Keep reading to discover two refreshing immune-boosting smoothie recipes for the entire family.

Recipe #1: Lemon Ginger Shots/ Smoothie

These lemon ginger shots are great for regulating your digestive system, building your immune system and much more.

Here’s what you will need:

4 Organic lemons

½ Cup of fresh organic ginger

¼ Cup of raw honey

1 Cup of water

1 – 2 cups of ice

Instructions:

Peel the skin of the lemons, slice them and remove seeds. Slice the fresh ginger into thin slices. Blend lemon, ginger, honey, water, and ice until desired consistency. If you enjoy a more iced texture, add more ice. For more of a juice consistency, use less ice.

Recipe #2: Orange Lemon Ginger Banana Smoothie!

This smoothie is a great source of potassium, vitamin C and much more! If you’re serving children try using less ginger to cut back on the spice. Feel free to add more fruits and vegetables to these recipes.

Here’s what you will need:

2 organic lemons

1 organic orange

1 banana

½ cup of orange juice

½ cup of fresh organic ginger

¼ cup of raw honey

1 – 2 cups of water

1 – 2 cups of ice

Instructions:

Peel the skin of the lemons and oranges, slice them and remove seeds. Slice the fresh ginger into thin slices. Blend lemon, orange, banana, orange juice, ginger, honey, water, and ice until desired consistency. If you enjoy a more iced texture again add more ice. For more of a juice consistency use less ice and more liquid (orange juice or water).
